A calm focus timer. Warm up on a single point, hide the countdown if it distracts you, and see how often you really sit down to work.
Warm up
Name your first step, then rest your eyes on a single point for a minute or two. A calm way into the work.
Focus
Twenty-five minutes on one thing. Hide the countdown, or choose a face that doesn't tick.
Rest
A short break after each session, a long one after four. Stepping away is part of the method.
Ninety seconds on a single point.
When you sit down, Steen asks for the first small thing you'll do. Then the screen settles to a single dot. Rest your eyes on it, blink whenever you like, and come back when your gaze drifts. Close your eyes while the afterglow fades, and a soft tone starts your session.
It's inspired by trataka, a steady-gaze practice that small studies link to better attention and memory scores afterwards. No study has tested a short dot before work, so we keep it optional and honest: a calm way to start, not a promise. Choose 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

What's the first small thing you'll do?
Time without the ticking.
A countdown in the corner of your eye can become the thing you watch. Hide it with one key, or pick a face that shows time passing without counting seconds.
See how often you actually sit down.
Back-to-back sessions become one sit-down, so the numbers match how your day felt. Then Steen shows your rhythm: when you start, how long you stay, which days slip, and what you spend the time on.
2h 10m on average, against 1h 05m on other days.
Give or take 20 minutes. That's a steady routine.
Pick a place to sit.
